The Mahone Bay Centre (MBC) - Building at the Heart of our Community, is a volunteer run community centre that is looking for a
Part-time person to work in our office with our full-time Office Manager
MBC rents event space, short and long-term space, operates Centre Fit gym and provides programming and events for the community. The Centre is open 365 days of the year, and our office is open to the public between 10 am and 3pm Monday through Friday.
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, flexible and an independent thinker who’s able to see what needs to be done and do it. This individual will require strong administration skills, be largely unflappable and able to respond to the competing and changing demands of a public facility. Strong communication skills are essential. General office duties include writing up and/or making deposits, photocopying, scanning, email, word processing, newsletter and database management. Other duties may include event set-up and tear down, purchasing, problem solving and handling issues as they arise. Audio visual and social media skills an asset. The successful applicant will work 8-12 hours per week, with the day(s) and distribution of hours negotiable, as well as cover sick and vacation time for our full-time Office Manager.
