You can help sustain and improve the Mahone Bay Centre by leaving a gift in your will. Your future donation will continue to help the MBC serve your family and neighbours after you are gone. It will not impact you financially today and your estate will receive a tax credit to help offset any lingering tax owing.

Here is some common language you can provide your lawyer or advisor to let your wishes be known.
General Bequests – designate a specific dollar amount of property, usually cash, to the charity of your choice. Example: “ I give to the Mahone Bay Centre Society Charitable Organization Number: 89122 8017 RR0001, Mahone Bay N.S., the sum of $5,000.”
Specific Bequests – will indicate the Mahone Bay Centre Society is to receive a specific piece of property. Example: “I give the Mahone Bay Centre Society Charitable Organization Number: 89122 8017 RR0001, Mahone Bay, N.s., 1500 shares of ABC stock.”
Residual Bequests – a residual bequest designates a portion of all of whatever remains in your estate after all debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests have been paid. Example: “I give the Mahone Bay Centre Society Charitable Organization Number: 89122 8017 RR0001, Mahone Bay N.S., fifty percent (50 %) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate."
Contingent Bequests – contingent bequests only take effect in certain circumstances. Example: “If my husband does not survive me, I give to the Mahone Bay Centre Society Charitable Organization Number: 89122 8017 RR0001, Mahone Bay, N.S., the sum of $10,000.”
